IDMME is one of the most famous international conferences in the field of Integrated Design and Manufacturing. The 6 previous events have gathered together more than 3000 high-quality and advanced solutions to be disseminated in the research communities worldwide, thus enhancing industrial innovation.

Virtual Concept is the only international meeting focusing on the topic of Interactive Design and Manufacturing Methods: multi-sensorial virtual prototyping, Virtual reality for industrial innovation, simulation for supporting decision making, etc.

The 6 previous events have led to the construction of a strong and steady international mixed as well as transversal community. After a world tour and having visited France (Biarritz, Compiègne, Nantes, Grenoble), UK (Bath), USA, Canada (Montréal), Mexico (Cancun), Brazil, Singapore, Australia, both conferences have reinforced the emergence of a large international network of academics, researchers and industry specialists.  The experts coming from research and industry areas bring solutions from their own domains of excellence, which cover Design and Manufacturing Sciences, Virtual Reality, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering,  Mechatronics and Robotics for ensuring the development of efficient tools supporting decision making in innovation.

Starting in 2008, both conferences have decided to get closer and to expand further a forceful community.

All accepted presentations at IDMME – Virtual Concept 2008 will be published.

All participants being accepted for:

  • a communication,
  • a poster,
  • a workshop,
  • a school session organization or a tutorial,

will benefit an international publication and are invited to announce their international publication.

All publications will be integrated within the book:

“Research in Interactive Design” – Vol. 3

Edited by Dr. X. Fischer and Pr. P. Ray with Springer Verlag*. The book is internationally distributed (for online access, clic here for Vol. 1 and Vol. 2).

Artificial Immune Systems are one of the most exciting recent new areas of research in computer science today. Researchers in this field focus on creating and exploiting biologically-inspired algorithms based on biological immune systems for applications such as machine learning, control and intrusion detection. There is also an increasing interest in the use of computers to model and analyse biological immune systems. The seventh International Conference on AIS continues the tradition of providing a forum for the world’s leading researchers in the area to present their latest results. ICARIS also encourages and supports newer researchers to the field, whether from academia or industry. Student grants will be available to contribute towards travel costs. Renowned researchers in the field will present plenary lectures and a number of general and specialist tutorials will be run just before the main conference. If you perform research into artificial immune systems or modelling of immune systems, you need to come to Thailand and join us!

The conference will have four streams:

1. Computational immunology
- Modelling and biology-specific work
- Stream leader : Emma Hart, Naiper Univ., UK,

2. Applied AIS
- Immune-inspired computer science systems, practical “AIS   Success   Story” applications in industry, commerce, arts,   and   academia
- Stream leaders :
Henry Lau, Hong Kong Univ., China, ,
  Vincenzo Cutello, Catania Univ., Italy,

3. Theoretical AIS
- Theoretical analyses of computer science, information theory and/or   biology
- Stream leader : Andy Hone, Kent Univ., UK,

4. Position papers
- Providing a novel argument philosophical or methodological relating to   AIS and/or immunobiology
- Stream leaders :
  Jon Timmis, York Univ., UK,
  Paul Andrews, York Univ., UK,

Please contact individual stream leaders for more information. Note that position papers will have shorter time to present, and longer for discussion at the end.

MICAI is a high-level peer-reviewed international conference covering all areas of Artificial Intelligence, traditionally held in Mexico. All previous editions of MICAI were published in Springer LNAI (N 1793, 2313, 2972, 3789, 4293, 4827). Acceptance rate (oral session) of MICAI-2007 was 23.9% out of 485 submissions from 43 countries; MICAI-2006: 26.1% out of 448 submissions from 42 countries; MICAI-2005: 28% out of 423 submissions from 43 countries. The conference is organized by the Mexican Society for Artificial Intelligence (SMIA). The scientific program includes keynote lectures, paper presentations, tutorials, panels, and workshops.

This year’s event will be held in Mexico City, at ITESM Campus Estado de México.
